As infants and toddlers grow into confident preschoolers, the curriculum evolves to meet new and changing needs.

Our Preschool program continues to use methods that promote independence, curiosity, decision making, creativity, and problem-solving, yet extends on previous knowledge and experience by taking everything to the next level.  Children in this age group are experimenting more, building new relationships, testing their boundaries, and looking for new challenges. Simply put, they’re growing up!

Preschoolers at Country Village enjoy a playful learning experience that pushes them continually move forward and to step beyond learning the basics of simple letters and numbers; it challenges them to blend those letters into words and to combine or break apart those numbers into larger and smaller sets through addition and subtraction. Country Village prides in this preschool experience and believes it is cornerstone to future success in kindergarten and beyond.

The HighScope Preschool Curriculum expands the learning spectrum to encompass 58 key developmental indicators (KDIs) spread across the following eight areas:

  • Approaches to Learning
  • Social and Emotional Development
  • Physical Development and Health
  • Communication, Language and Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Creative Arts
  • Science and Technology
  • Social Studies
